Large Vintage Foo Dog Ceramic Box Hand Painted Chinese Lidded Box Pacific Rim
This is quite an interesting piece. It is a lidded ceramic box with a big foo dog on lid serving as the handle. Some areas on the box are glazed, while other areas are unglazed and have a textured finish. It is a mustard yellow color with blue, green and brown accent. Chinese writing is prominent on front, back and ends of box and is written in black with red Chinese marks among the writing. Slightly raised with four small feet.
Light crazing to interior and bottom of box and underneath lid. Otherwise excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
Measures approx. 11" high with lid, 5.5" high w/o lid, 9.75" long x 5" deep
