Vintage Japanese Ginger Jar Hand Painted Porcelain Lidded Butterfly Ginger Jar
This beautiful hand painted coffee colored Ginger Jar features butterflies among a floral display of orange and lilac colored chrysanthemums- with deep green leaves. An orange band with scrolled gilt borders the top and a solid orange band border the bottom. The lid features the same coffee color of jar with butterflies and an orange band at bottom. A beautiful collection of gilded dots grace the sides and back of jar.
Lid has some glaze that is not smooth on the underside and a small area of pooled glaze around the bottom rim...very minor in detail and does not detract from overall appearance.
There's a gold foil label on bottom that reads "Original LJ, Made in Japan."
Approx. 5.75" with lid, 5" without lid, 14.5" in circumference and 2" in diameter at opening.
